Named for Brussels premier tourist attraction (Manneken Pis), brasserie restaurant is also a major stop for travellers to the Ilot Sacre preserved historic district.
Set near the Grand Place, Manneken offers a warm typically Brussels welcome, with cranberry coloured walls, glazed tiles, crackling open fireplace, scrubbed wooden floors and tables, charmingly mismatched chairs, chandeliers, and a cosy mezzanine level.
The menu features dishes like starter of pan-fried prawns in garlic butter, main course of grilled beef entrecote with aubergine tomato, and burned cream. Classic Brussels dishes like mussels, waterzooi (stew) with chicken, and Brussels waffles are here too, and, as it’s open daily from 8 am, it’s an excellent choice for meeting friends any time of day.
